Each year, Stage Artz Theatre Company and Stage Artz Performing Arts School combine to produce a family musical, with all profits donated to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Stage Artz Charity Musicals have now raised $309,000 for the kids at Westmead, making Stage Artz an official HOSPITAL BENEFACTOR (a very exciting milestone, which will be acknowledged by the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation at our 2023 opening night). This year, Stage Artz is aiming to increase the above donation with our 2023 Charity Production, SHREK THE MUSICAL.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, SHREK THE MUSICAL is a Tony Award-winning musical comedy adventure that is guaranteed fun for the whole family! A perfect night out for the young, and the young at heart, SHREK THE MUSICAL will have audiences dancing in the aisles and laughing all the way home.

And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and many other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.

Join Shrek, Princess Fiona, Donkey, Dragon, Gingy, the evil Lord Farquaad and all of your favourite fairytale characters as they show us that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.

SHREK will be performed at Glen Street Theatre, 23rd to 30th September (the first week of the September school holidays), and the run will include one weekday of matinee performances.
